Module A focuses on the various aspects of language: Italian grammar for foreigners, an updating of lexicon and a look at lexical fields, the role of idiomatic expressions in the teaching of Italian, etc.
Module B focuses on the use of culture in teaching language: choice of texts and materials, the use of multimedia tools, culture as the fifth skill, updating the vision of Italian culture.
Morning hours are dedicated to:
· A review of Italian grammar with special attention on how to present it to foreigners;
· Lexical fields, including an update for expressions and current usage;
· Theories of applied linguistics and the various methods used in the teaching of Italian;
· How to teach culture, and which culture to teach;
· Class management;
· How to evaluate the four skills.
There will be four workshops in which the participants in the course have the opportunity to work directly in the development of techniques for language teaching. The course also has the goal of creating materials and developing effective instruments that the participants can take away with them, such as lesson plans and activities that can be used directly in the Italian foreign language classroom.
