Semester Programs
Integrated with Italian University

If you want to study at the University of Genoa, Study in Italy will assist you every step of the way to make your stay enjoyable and enriching.

Prior to your departure, we help you to obtain a student visa and advise you as to the course offerings in Italy in your field of study. Upon your arrival, we accompany you to the appropriate offices for the permesso di soggiorno (permission to live in Italy), and for the registration at the University of Genoa.

A series of on-site lessons and walking tours helps you to become familiar with the layout of the city and get oriented to local customs.

Study in Italy will provide you with a personal tutor who will meet with you weekly to check on your progress as well as help you to prepare you for exams. Students may choose to study for a full academic year or one semester.

An intensive, on-site language program and orientation course prepares you for regular coursework at the University of Genoa. American students, preferably in their third year of undergraduate study, will be completely integrated in the Genovese academic and social environment, taking up to three courses per semester in as many as two of the following departments: Political Science, Economics and Business, Humanities History, Literatures, Art History, Film, Theatre, Philosophy), Foreign Languages, and Engineering.

Based upon your academic or extracurricular interests, Study in Italy will arrange an internship that allows you to explore how things are done in Italy in a particular field. In the past, students have interned with local government, theatres, art galleries, artists' or architects' studios, schools and medical facilities.

To complete your experience, Study in Italy takes all our students on excursions to local sites of interest such as Portofino and Camogli, as well as an evening at the opera or a concert. Welcome- and farewell-dinners are included in the package.
